Too paranoid? Adcoms looking at SDN or MDapps

I am not sure if I am being overly paranoid but I have been worrying if adcoms actually look people up on MDapps or even SDN. I'm not even sure what this information might give but if they see you're applying to certain places or have certain acceptances would it effect their decisions? Just wondering what other people thought and if I am being too paranoid.

BTW, I know I could have just taken these pages down on not even made an MDapp to avoid any privacy issues but I like the idea that these sites help other students with the process

Just vague it up a bit... Even then they can't really confirm its you, only speculate. Though I highly doubt that they go through these forums when they are sitting in adcom meetings deciding your fate.

Give yourself a fake name and state residency. As soon as someone reads that, they'll just move right along. People are easily fooled with the smallest details. 👍

The dean of admissions of the school Ill be attending said he does check out sdn on occasion but more for amusement than anything else. He thought the complaints about the school's secondary application were funny. I doubt that adcoms have the time nor effort to try and identify their applicants on here or mdapps.

I have pretty much everything (with the exception of my PS) listed in my MDApps and haven't attempted to disguise anything. Hell, my real name is available from the Twitter link on every one of my posts. Nothing bad has happened.

I'm not sure why people are so paranoid about this. The likelihood that someone from an already very busy and likely understaffed admissions office spending time to check to see if an applicant is on SDN, uses MDApps, etc. is very, very small. That said, I'm sure there are officials who check SDN (I know the director of admissions for Michigan, for example, does), but I highly doubt any of that is factored into any sort of admissions decision.

Thanks for the responses, they are kind of what I expected/hoped to hear. I'm supposed to hear from the last two schools I interviewed at soon and have just been nervous about everything lately.

I'd estimate that half or more of deans of admission check the school specific threads, but I don't think they go beyond that or check MDApps. Just don't say anything overly negative or misleading about a school in the thread about them. I remember at least one dean paraphrasing a recent post and he did not seem too happy about it.
