So I took the DAT today and didn't do as well as I had hoped. I started studying in March and really cracked down after the semester ended in May. I have never been an amazing standardized test taker, so I have been incredibly nervous about this test. The scores I received are: 20 PAT, 18 RC, 21 QR, 17 bio, 20 gen chem, and 16 ochem (UGH don't know how this happened cause this was always my best score in bootcamp). I have a higher GPA (3.74) and have a lot of involvement at my university including being a student athlete. I am planning to apply to around 10 schools. Do you think I would have a chance of acceptance with these scores?

So your AA is 18, with your TS being probably 18 as well? It's going to be tough with these scores because the average of those that matriculate into dental schools is about 20. I would say apply to more schools, mostly private schools, and also schedule for a retake during the first week of September. Apply on June 5th and see what happens, and study for the DAT retake for the rest of the summer. You may receive a few interviews, and maybe acceptances who knows, but even if you don't, you'll most likely have a solid score from September and can reapply next cycle. Good luck!

two low science scores on the DAT will almost likely guarantee that you'll get filtered out. prolly necessary for you to retake even though you do have a above avg gpa.
