Hi everyone, I just need some help/advice I took my dats 3 times first time was horrible score not even worth listing 2nd time I took it in December scored an academic average of 18 all scores were around 19s and some 20 s one or two 18s and scored a 14 on math the lowest score. So I figured I'd take it for the 3rd time I got:

Total science 19 pat: 19 and my math went up to a 17 and I ended up w an 18 on rc and 18 in bio so my overall average was an 18 again:/ but this time no extremely low scores they were mostly consistent. 19s and two 18s

I'm applying this summer I have a 3.4 gpa and I plan on doing a master's in the fall and Continue working at a Dental office Do you think I'd still have any chances to getting in considering I took it 3x and still didn't improve drastically to 20s? :/

Your gpa and scores are average for some schools so you definitely have a chance. Get the ADEA guide and find which schools you will have the best chance at being accepted to. What was your studying schedule like?

Hey man no shame in retaking. I actually respect retakers alot because they have to go through the entire process of prep again which takes guts. You have a chance! Chin up mate your scores are not bad for the 3rd result.

IMO, you definitely have a chance, you might wanna work on your GPA by retaking the science classes you did poorly in. Especially if they are prereqs. Masters is a good idea, but most of the schools want to make sure you finish the degree before you start the dental program. So IDK how masters work for you for next cycle. Never give up, you can do it.

Honestly I've tried everything and anything first try I completely relied on kaplan. Never again their system. Isn't so helpful second time around I used cliff notes as bio, chads orgo and Chem, datqvault, top score, and dat boot camp both for rounds 2 and 3. I always knew test taking wasn't my thing :/ but took all the chances I could get

An admissions committee member from a Texas dental school told me that they don't look down on the number of times people have taken the DAT.

You can retake classes you did poorly in? Lucky you. We have to stick with our grades here in CA... (unless you received a D or lower..)

Keep your head up. Those scores are not bad and who cares. I retook the SAT like 4 times and still got into UF lol. To me it shows that you are determined to reach your goals. Standardized tests aren't everyones forte and people know this. Your scores are pretty good and you have a chance. Move forward and apply!

I wouldn't retake it. Apply early see what happens. You never know.
Not to mention that I can promise you that the DAT will be 10x easier once you finish your masters. If I was able to take it with the knowledge I have now...
