Hey guys, I took the DAT this morning and I have to say I was pretty pleased with my scores....I got low twenties in pretty much all the sections and an 18 in PAT. I don't have any particularly detailed advice to give about studying or tips except STUDY HARD. I had been studying since the beginning of June and really intensely for the last three weeks (8-10 hrs a day). I didn't use too many sources for studying though. I really focused on the Destroyer and used that for about 75% of study material. I just made sure I knew it as thoroughly as possible. Anything that I was unclear about in bio or needed more info on I searched on Wikipedia for a detailed description. I went through the entire book about three times. I also used the Kaplan book to look over some bio notes and then in the last few days I did a few Achiever exams. So that's basically it guys. I also think that its luck sometimes....once in a while you get the questions that you were really studying and the formulas you knew and sometimes you don't. Obviously the more prepared you are the less luck factors in, but GOOD LUCK to all!!!!!!!!!! 👍 :hardy:

congrats...that is the same thing i am doing. going through destroyer make sure i know everything like the back of my hand if i don't understand something i look it up in a textbook or wikipedia.

for the reading i just did three Kaplan reading sections and the Achiever tests. i didnt have any strategies except to do practice passages, that's the best way - and make sure its timed.

What were youre achiever scores like? I know destroyer pretty well but Im scoring like crap (17 TS for all three tests) on the sciences in achiever...getting pretty bummed.

I just took it today, my RC paras were ridiculously short, almost as if to just state chunks of material and without any cohesiveness except to add details. Then there were inference and topic/scope/authors POV questions that I never had on Achiever/Topscore/Kaplan on there. That was interesting, definitely need to retake since I scored 5 pts lower in RC than I had previously averaged. And I need to look at RC in a new light.

my passages had about 16 paragraphs or so. nothing too bad. as for the Achiever tests i did ok on the 1st one with a TS of 19. but then they got worse from there. i also got a lil scared but figured i should just go take the test and not postpone it and it wasn't as bad as i was fearing. the important thing id not to worry too much!
