Oh boy...This is going to get ugly lol.

Waitlisted2009, I would take Temple off your list. I think it is a very good dental school according to my research. Their accelerated/dual DMD-MBA program is top notch.

And out of curiousity, did these 10 schools waitlist you? Lol.

I actually really liked Howard and thought it was a great school, minus the area it was in. The faculty were some of the nicest I've met, and all of the students seemed really happy there. Some of their facilities were also nicer than some other dental schools.

Although I've got a bit of a grudge against Western for not even looking at my App because I took my DAT after October 15, even though I got my app and DAT scores in before their deadline, I thought the school was alright. Did you have a bad experience with them?

what possesses people to post stuff like this.

First of all Alabama and Georgia are excellent dental schools i don't know why you have them on the list.

Regardless of DAT scores and GPAs of the entering students, if a dental school was incapable of producing competent dentists then it wouldn't still be open. All dentists have to pass boards.

"Do you have one to replace it with?"

sure..the school that accepts you

I derive a lot of joy at making fun of the State of South Carolina, being a native North Carolinian. I mean those people put mustard on their barbecue :scared:

But I've heard nothing but great things about MUSC's dental school.

So nobody wants to admit some schools are at the bottom of the list? And nobody wants to say which these are? Thats being in Denial

Western's dental program hasn't even started yet.. how can it already be the #1 worst? You know all dental schools were brand new at some point in history..

The only school that truly belongs on the list is Western. Why? because they were the only school that I thought I had a legitimate shot at and they never called me for an interview inspite of plenty of ass kissing by yours truly...........................but seriously though why is USC not on the list, from the way people talk about it on these boards it seems to have cornered the no.1 spot on any worst 10 list.

I would be happy to attend any of those schools.

USC is pending

You are waitlisted at many schools. I dont think that you have any right to rank any school.
Well actually, i guess you are making it a two way traffic. Since schools ranked you in the lowest 10 applicants, so it is a come back from you.

Says the "pre-health" person. Where did you apply and get in?

This is not about that anyway. These are the worst. I saw a few mentions from other people. There is clearly a bottom school. They might not like me as an applicant thats fine, they labeled me as below acceptance for right now. We all know there are bottom schools no matter how much I would want to attend them, some are just worse than others.

your opinion is insignificant

have a good day!

I would throw USC in, 'cause some students there actually told me "Don't go to this school if you can" 😉

Top 10 worst: Start with highest price and work your way down.

From another thread.

And whats your point? I have already said I want to get in to all of them. But there are still winners and losers.

Western is still the worst school. Have you ever been there? Didnt think so, anyone who has been knows what I am talking about.

i kind of agree... western U will be my backup when I apply

I've been there and actually liked the campus for reasons I feel are irrelevant to this thread. I actually accepted into the program in hopes of an enthusiastic inaugural class. In my opinion, I don't think the Pre-Dental Forums is the place to discuss such an issue if you're looking for an accurate ranking system. Afterall, we're all just predents.....However, if you're looking for a place to vent because you didn't get accepted anywhere then you've found the right place.

There's a reason why there are no official rankings to dental school. Look the statistics up yourself to each of the schools and make your rankings based off of YOUR own preferences. You should look back on your post in 4 years after my class graduates. I have no plan on screwing around in dental school. As a future student going to Waitlist2009's #1 Top Worst Dental School, I look forward to the day students categorized under your "worst dental schools" score better on their boards.

Best of luck to you in the next cycle 😉

You don't think it's unfair to have those public schools on there? Schools that very few people have access to, and very few people have information or opinions on? Perhaps limit the list to places where your average applicant actually can get into without being from that state?

Perhaps have your Top 4, and then add USC, and just have a Top 5 Worst Dental Schools list. I'm not saying I would agree with this top 5, but it would be easier to try to justify. It would consist of the 2 schools with the statistically worst matriculants, the 2 newest schools which are not accredited, and the most expensive school (which happens to also have a PBL curriculum...)

Maybe you should list the objective criteria you used to rank the schools - if you did indeed use any. It seems more like you pulled these out of thin air.

I would add all of the Mexican, Canadian, and Puerto Rican schools onto the list before adding any of the US Schools there.

Someone who understands how competitive a Canadian dental school is. Why do you think a majority come to the US? Look at average GPA for Canaid d-schools!

Canadian dental schools are super competitive by comparison. U of Toronto, for example, has a admitted pool of student average GPA to be 3.91. BTW, an is only a 3.9 and you have achieve A+ to be counted as a 4.0 in their system.
The ironic part is that dentists here don't even make as much as those in the US. My hypothesis is that the because Canada has such a high unemployment rate (8% now, and we have not enjoyed an unemployment rate less than 6.7% for at least the last 30 years -- the US before the recent crises and since 1994 had not had an unemployment rate even close to 6% ), any field which offers somewhat of a reasonable job security and decent income is hotly contested over.

Correction: The US unemployment rate has not exceeded 6.2% since 1994 and until this recent economic crisis.

I feel like you are so very bitter you just want to put down schools that people got into to make them feel bad about themselves.... well, no matter your opinion, in teh end.. they will be Dr. ______ in 4 years! Will you???

What? Of course that would effect it now.

My question is, what type of health care does Canada have? Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the difference.

In Canada, dental is NOT covered by government. Only cover certain dental cases for YOUNG children whose parents are below certain income (don't know the age threshold, but I'm sure it's much younger than 18). The only thing covered by our "universal healthcare" system is physician visits and hospital visits (including medications in hospitals). Does not cover medication (even prescription) outside of hospital, dental, chiropractic, inappropriate use of 911 (LOL), etc. I think they do cover some physiotherapy for serious things like dislocated shoulders, etc.

I don't see the point in this thread at all. I know people at top programs and "bottom" programs. People have their gripes and complaints everywhere. You will have the letters after your name either way. Just shut up and stop tearing down schools.

Every dental school in the USA is "the worst dental school"

They all teach you the bare minimum to be legally dangerous, torture you to a level that would make Gitmo look like a kiddy park, and then make you pay hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Every person can't wait to start dental school. The every dental student can't wait to graduate from the oppression and abuse.

I can't wait to be a human again in 1 month.

Waste of time thread. No use whatsoever for ppl. Don't hate OP. All those schools rejected you for a reason, ur personality... lol. I believe that all dental schools get accredited for a reason. You have no right to judge any school at all. Waitlisted2009 <--- lol... if u keep this up, u should change ur sn to rejected 2010.

I take it back. Minus the good luck part. Hopefully you eventually change your attitude though.

Waitlisted you are quite comical...it's clear that you are just doing this to get under people's skin b/c you are bitter... you used to have such a positive attitude in these forums until.. well.. you got waitlisted.

This is waitlisted referring to the same schools he just listed as teh worst schools... just because you couldn't get into med school, thought dental would be easier and are STILL not in.... doesn't mean you should put down people who got in.

Good luck with the rest of your cycle-
just remember that karma's a B****

A double reject? Man, I'd be pissed too. Tough break. Alright everyone, lay off Waitlisted.
