Top Schools that place emphasis on Extracurriculars

Hey guys, the application season for 2014 has started. I know that the strongest part of my application is extracurriculars. I am fortunate that my state school is very good. However, which schools in the top 20/30 place emphasis on Extracurriculars? Although this doesn't mean GPA/MCAT are ignored, it would help me pick and choose which schools to apply for.

For top schools, there's no shortage of 3.8+/36+ applicants, so what makes you stand out is your ECs. It isn't enough to be a cookie cutter applicant.

Columbia has a near belligerent desire for extracurriculars.Pro tip, look at the MSAR numbers for schools with lots of non-traditional students and non-science majors.

All schools put emphasis on ECs. They also all put emphasis on stats. Buy the MSAR and use it to figure out where you sit stat-wise at schools you're interested in and apply mostly to schools that you have approximately the median stats. Add a few reach schools too if you'd like.

WashU, UMich, UChicago, and UVA have historically been known to focus on very high stats applicants (who still have good ECs).

Places like Mayo, Case, Columbia, Sinai, and Wisconsin are known to focus on non-trads and applicants with great ECs (who still have good stats).
