Ok so I'm a little confused on this:

Topscore test3 Bio Q10 - says that upon ovulation, the oocyte is released into the body cavity/uterus.

I thought the answer should have been oviduct because the egg gets fertilized in the fallopian tubes right? so doesn't it make sense that the oocyte gets released into the fallopian tubes where it eventually gets fertilized.

Is this an error in topscore?

thanks!

yea thats weird i know what your saying, it should be oviduct/fallopian tube...hmm

Hello! Its a tricky question, I know. When an egg is released its done so into the body cavity. Since the ovary and the oviduct are very close to one another, the hair like projections on the oviduct draw the egg in.

So once the egg is released into the body cavity, the hair like projections from the oviduct draw it into the fallopian tubules.

🙂

For a small amount of time the egg is in the abdominal cavity before it enters the fallopian tubes through the oviduct
