For those who took the DAT, how would you compare topscore reading to the actual exam? what type of questions would you expect to see? in topscore, the questions can be done all by search and destroy.

I thought it was pretty similar in terms of my real vs practice SCORES. Now in terms of the types of passages, I was lucky enough to get 2 science passages and a non-science that was very near and dear to my heart.

However, unlike the Topscore passages, be prepared to read very detailed and descriptive boring science stuff... not fun.

i think achiever has more tone/inference questions than topscore. you do see a lot of those questions on the actual DAT! so get achiever! 🙂

search and destroy is bomb! I did a barron's practice passage and got a 15/16 but there were no tone questions... can anyone compare barron's to the actual DAT? I'm thinking maybe its too easy..

they're pretty similar. Majority of the questions are just things you can find in the passage. Theres about one question on each passage in the actualy DAT that makes you read the whole article all over again and those question generally ask you "which of the following was not mentioned in the article"

DAT have 3 or 4 questions on each passage and the truthfulness and the relations of two statements. It was make a statement, or two statements such as
1. statement one
2. statement two

And give you choices such as
a. both statements are true
b. both statements are false
or a combination

Some make one statement and ask you if the relationship is true such as
A happens so B can happen; or A happens in relations to B

And they'll ask a combination a choices are whether A is true or B is true and if the relationship is true.
