So i've purchased topscore but hadn't heard about achiever until today. Is achiever really better than topscore? Or is topscore good enough on its own?

I'm two weeks into my studying, and i have the exam in 5 weeks and i'm kind of worried...my scores don't seem to be going up that much on the Kaplan practice and subject tests...

any advice/suggestions? i'm planning on taking one of the topscore full exams tomorrow, and then alternating between the Kaplan and Topscore tests every weekend until the exam.

Kaplan Diag:
AA: 18
Bio: 17
Gchem: 14
Ochem: 17
Reading: 20
QR: 17
PAT: 17

I would wait to take the Topscore until you have thoroughly studied. Taking tests now isn't really a good gauge of how you will do, especially if you have only been studying for two weeks. Buy the Kaplan blue book if you haven't, and go through that twice. Then take some practice tests. My DAT is in 9 days, and I just started doing practice tests a couple days ago. Good luck, and by the way...I don't think those scores are bad at all. Especially considering how much time you have left to improve!!! Good luck to you!!

thanks for the advice guys. I was just going to take one of the Topscore exams to just kind of get a feeling for what its like and then put off the other 2 until a week or two before the exam. I've also got a few of the Kaplan practice tests (like 5 of them) that are scheduled like once a week to gauge progress.

Would you guys suggest I order achiever too?

Kap, top, and achiever basically complement each other. With your low PAT score of 17 from Kaplan, it will be in your best interest to get it, which is not only good for PAT but other sections too especially the sciences.

those tests are crap. i dont think they really predict your grade on the actual exam. i scored higher on achiever than i did on topscore, and my real DAT scores were actually lower than my avg for achiever and higher for my topscore avg.

btw, i did 3 topscore and 2 achiever tests.

Topscore 1:

Ochem: 15
PAT: 20

RC: 19
TS: 17

i clearly need work on synthesis reactions...but thankfully my PAT improved.

how accurate are topscore scores in gauging your performance on the actual exam? yeyyy, you said they weren't a good indication of what the real test is like?

some people say that they're pretty good indicators, but i kept getting in the 20's for achiever and in the 17's for topscore. kinda weird, seeing as how most people's scores are the other way around
