Topscore vs. DAT scores

hello people...

well i need some encouragement...i just got done taking all the topscore tests and these are my averages...

i know this is stupid to ask...but how do you think i will do on my real test (on wednesday). most people say that they do about 2-3 better on the real test in all aspects but PAT...thanks

You have nothing to fear about. I'm sure you will do fine. I hear Topscore is harder than the real thing. I actually talked to a rep about the material and they said that it actually is harder than what you'd see on the test. I've read many posts and people who have taken the tests have said the same thing.

I took my first practice test after kaplan and I didn't do as well as you did. My gen chem's 13 and bio's 15 brought my average to a 18.2 something. So at least you are consistant.

Get a good amount of sleep tonight as it is critical on your performance on wednesday. The best of luck!

Do not worry. I was in the same boat as you when I was using Topscore. I ended up with a 19/19/18, with scores ranging from 18-21. Sometimes I would be scoring 16s using Topscore. Luckily, when I bought the thing off of Amazon, I read the user reviews and pretty much all of them said the same thing: Topscore is harder than the DAT.

i've also taken topscore and have recently completed the real DAT...

i would say your avg score in each of the sciences will increase by a point or so...

the pat will probably decrease a few points....

in regards to RC and QR, i feel like top score's RC was a lot easier than the real thing...all i had to do with topscore was just to search the answers in the passage and didn't have to read...on the real DAT, i tried that with the first passage and that technique completely failed...it actaully required some reading to find the answers...luckily, the 2nd and 3rd passages i had a good background in..so i didn't have to read it to answer the questions...so that saved me a lot of time to go back to the first passage...

so i dont know if that'll be the trned with you, but i got around 29s on the topscore RC, and it went down to a 23 on the real DAT..

as for the math, the real one is A LOT easier...i also got around 21 on topscore, and got a 28 on the real one..so you can probably expect yours to go up in math...

What do you guys think about topscore vs kaplan classes? I took the kaplan classes and we basically get 4 tests after our class is done. Everyone is talking about top score also. I would buy the topscore tests but then I think I may not get to them in time. I have 3 more tests to go and until June 22end. I'm averaging like one test a week. Any advice?

I just finished taking the DAT on saturday the 28. AA 18 TS19 PAT 17

Here are my scores for my topscore tests just before the big day
Test 1: AA 19 bio:24 GC:18 OC:17 RC:17 QR:19 PAT:19
Test 2: AA 17 bio:19 GC:17 OC:18 RC:17 QR:15 PAT:19
Test 3: AA 16 bio:17 GC:16 OC:16 RC:17 QR:16 PAT:18


Topscore is harder than the real DAT and your scores are consistant and higher than mine. You are going to do fine. Relax and get a couple good nights of rest.

you should not worry. i was in your shoes a few months ago. top score is much harder than the real test. good luck wednesday.
