i thought you only used chatelier for reactions at equilibruim? this has a forward arrow so doesnt that mean its' not at equilibrium??

yet by adding heat to an exothermic system and predicting that it'll shift the reaction to the left...that's what we do for those equilibruim chatelier problems isn't it?

Good eye! I didnt even see that forward arrow and just answered it thinking it was in equilibrium. You are right though.

well yea the question should either have double arrow or say that its @ equilibrium...i guess we just assume that it is at equilibrium

yea cuz in another test i got the question wrong because it said it was irreversible and i used chatelier to solve it and got it wrong because it wasn't at equilibruim so now I always try to make sure I don't make that mistake but in this case it just caused more confusion...but point is then like you guys said - if it doesn't say it's at equilibruim and if it just has a forward arrow it's okay to assume that it's at equilibruim and to then use chatelier, just want to confirm?

thank you guys!!! 🙂
