Technology Toshiba M45 series laptop..

I thinking about buying one for med school. I haven't decided which one yet, but does anyone have any experience with these computers? It seems like a great laptop (to my untrained eye). So far the only cons I have come up with are battery life of only about 2 hrs, pc 2700 DDR Ram instead of DDR2(someone else's con, can anyone translate to laymans terms). Any info or opinions would be appreciated.
