I have always heard that you shouldn't study for Step 1 for longer than a month or 2. What if I didn't pay attention at all during basic sciences and somehow "got through" the classes? I know, that doesn't show responbility, but I have been studying hard for about 3 months now for Step 1 (Kaplan books, videos, UW questions, Goljan notes, Pathoma, First Aid).

My NBME scores are low average -has statistics shown they will go up any further even if I study for a few more months? This is assuming I didn't study hard during the first 2 years of med school and need to relearn a lot of things in more detail -and the only way to do that is more time......such as studying for another 2 months.

My score has only been going up and up, so it's not true. I know that there are statistics that say scores go down after a certain point, but these people are not studying after their class lectures end. The statistics don't apply to those who actually continue to study.

Those people who say one month of studying is enough, what's their score? The people I know who got 250+, they've been studying since the summer after 1st year.
