Touro App from December: Nothing Yet....

Well, I put down my deposit for a school but I still haven't heard from Touro. I mailed the application in December. I asked for an application check and they said it could take until April.

My friend who applied got an interview notice within a month of mailing his application in.

Maybe I am being audited or something?

What happened to ROLLING admissions?

did they notify you at all that they received ur file and all the required documents? they always send out a notecard and letter telling you that stuff.

I applied to Touro late November and was they sent me an interview invitation letter about 1 week after I got the notecard from them saying that they got my applications. You can always email Ms. Julie to ask. I think she's very nice and will answer every question that you have.

Well, they said they will finish up their interviews by March. I think you applied too late. 🙁 Think about it. They interview ~20 ppl per week from October to March...U do the math! They have interviewed ~450 ppl for only 80 seats for this year. That being said, I think your chance of being accepted into that school is very slim. So sad. 🙁

I waited until the school was part of PharmCAS to apply and I have interview this Friday. I was told that March 31st was the last interview date; however, if needed they might request for another pool of interview for another date. Good luck and keep your head up. I know am admist the rejection from some of the schools.

I sent my application before they started PharmCAS. And now I know someone who applied through pharmCAS got an interview. They should just give me a rejection letter..... I don't know why I have to wait this long.

From what I hear:
Touro is placing all applications from applicants with below a 3.3 or 3.4 on HOLD-? I'm guessing that they're waiting for students to open seats up when they hear from other pharmacy schools?? I don't know if that helps.

where u get that info from? i thought touro has always been one who cares more about the person than his gpa.

I am not sure where you obtained your information and it is incorrect because I happen to fall under that that GPa cap and I will be intervewing this Friday.

several people that i know got in with a way lower gpa than that. they are very disorganized, so that may be why you haven't heard anything, then again maybe not. I don't really know. I know they lost several application material from people, including me.

hi everyone, i just wanted to share a little in hopes it will help out some of you.

I have an awesome impression of Touro. I submitted my application around September/ October ( it's been so long, I can't remember). I had my interview on Nov. 4 and I was notified exactly two weeks later on Nov. 18. Actually they were kind enough to email us so that we wouldn't die from anticipation.

I think they are very organized. From arranging a discount with the hotel, taking us to the school from the hotel, providing pastries and juice for breakfast, providing lunch, and providing excellent communication. You'll always be able to reach someone when you call or receive an email response if you email them.

I'm proud to be attending there this fall 🙂

on a side note: 3.2 cum (soc major), 2.9 pre req's, volunteered for 3 years, extracurriculars: various clubs, sorority, student body, community volunteering, habitat for humanity, locks of love...

i had an excellent interview experience. it was very fun and more of a group discussion than a scary interview. i think they really appreciate sincere and thoughtful answers and not cloned ones. they seem to stress personality and character over grades. which to me is more important. you may have the grades but never achieve the personality needed in this profession.

I applied at the end of december and they sent me the card saying that my application was complete....I don't know y I haven't hear anything from them?
After reading everyone's replies, I'm really getting worried....do they actually lose people's applications???

I have called Julie Lee, but she just gives generic answers to questions....Can I ask specific questions about my application???

You should call again, or email perhaps, and ask specifically your status. They usually respond back promptly. I have a feeling they're still filling up their 80 or so seats, so if you haven't heard back from them, that could possibly mean you're still being considered.

if you gotten a note card from them, that means they have everything, they can't loose it. i believe they send out rejections all at the same time, or completed all their interviews. that's what a lot of schools do. by this time of the application cycle, if you haven't heard anything, i would assume it's a rejection. this is pretty true for touro i think since they're pretty much done w/ the interviews.
