HI GUYS

I NEED TO DECIDE SOON BETWEEN THESE TWO SCHOOLS......i KNOW THERE ARE OTHER THREADS ON THIS TOPIC FROM THE PAST, BUT I WANTED TO GET SOME NEW OPINIONS SINCE SOME CHANGES HAVE COME TO BOTH SCHOOLS....

P.S.. BOTH SCHOOLS FELT OKAY TO ME DURING INTERVIEW SO THAT IS WHY I AM HAVING SOME DIFFICULTY DECIDING........I AM HEARING THAT AZCOM HAS PERCEPTROSHIP TYPE ROATIONS AND TOURO HAS WARD-BASED....I AM NOT SURE IF THAT MATTERS MUCH....IN ANY CASE, IS ONE SCHOOL A BIT BETTER THAN THE OTHER AT SOMETHING?

Similar schools in the sense they were built around the same time. Look at their rotation sites and see which one you like better.

I liked the azcom campus since it was state of the art , but the heat is scaring the **** out of me....I am cali resident; would touro increase my chances of getting a cali residency vs. azcom?

Depends on the school, you can ask them if they have instate preference. The class size is a huge factor. Do like large classes or small. I think Azcom lets you rotate in chicago (not sure, should call them and ask). I know touro lets you rotate in NY and NV. Would you take advantage of that? Touro should be a little cooler in temperature. Those should be enough factor to apply to one school over the other 😉

It might be a little easier in touro because you an rotate at an hospital you want to apply for ra CA residency. Probably not by much. Since you are having such a tough time on this, I would apply to both. One of the schools may blow you away

I'd go with the cheaper one where the area is comfortable for me, campus is easy to reach from my apartment, housing is cheaper, and is closer to home. In my opinion I'd go to AZCOM simply cuz i haven't heard many good things about touro-CA. but what do i know... good luck making your decision, my vote is azcom

I canceled my Touro-CA interview after I was accepted at AZCOM. So... I chose AZCOM.

What kind of medicine do you want to go into? Subspecialty? Check out the 3rd and 4th year schedules to see where you have the most early elective time to really focus on whatever you choose to do, if it's outside of primary care.

About the class size, do you want professors to maybe know your name and be willing to help you, or do you want to be left alone and not known by many?

I think you have enough suggestions that, provided you find answers to them, you should be able to make the best decision for you. Good luck.

We had a panel of students at our osteopathic pre med meeting the other night and the two MS3 azcom students were very bitter about their experience, i guess their preceptor program was taken away and they apparently had no other clinical opportunities.
