Looked through the forum, searched as well, no information on Touro.

Is anyone here attending Touro (Bay Shore) now and can give me their honest opinion of the program.

Is it a good program.

How much is the tuition. The acceptance letter I received said that I will be part of the class of 2013 which means there is only about 6 or 7 semesters maybe. Their website says 11k per sem so it would be one of the cheaper programs that I applied to tuition wise. So this will run a total of 70-80k in tuition and since it is only two years for the program, it means rent/living expenses of two years as well, which is one of the cheaper options for me.

Looking back through old post says their passing rates are not high, but they have a 91% ultimate board pass rate according to the fsbpt website.

I received an email from them as well. On their website, it appears to be a 3 year program, so not sure why it says Class of 2013?

I don't have much info on the program either, I applied mainly based on cost and location. I'd love to here what others have to say. It's not my first choice, but it's an acceptance, so I'm going to put off sending my deposit in as late as I can.

Kind of weird they sent an email, right? Mine went to my spam, so I just found it this morning.

Hey guys; Whats the difference from the bay shore and Manhattan campus? Does anyone know? I applied to Touro but have not heard anything back yet.

The manhattan campus, I believe, that there's class on the weekends. I think it goes from Sunday through Thursday. I only applied to Bay shore campus anyway, I wouldn't be able to eat if I lived in NYC. Bay Shore campus runs from Monday thru friday.

As far as cost go, I am confused. I am going to contact them soon and get more information about cost, financial assistance, curiculum, clinical affiliations, etc. I have to send my $500 deposit before Dec. 4th if I want to keep my seat. Their website states that there are 6 semesters with ~$12000/sem which is one of the cheapest Ive seen and it is a mandatory dual degree BS/DPT. The dual degree is actually pretty cool, but looking at the curiculum, I think if it is spread out more (like Temple's curiculum) I would be able to do good in PT school. IDK about 22 hrs avg per semester. I like how Temple is 16hrs avg per semester. Suits my learning style better. But I don't know if I can get into Temple, even after the interview, people have PMed me to tell me that they don't care about you as a whole during the interview, they are basically looking at the numbers which sucks.

Other than that I haven't heard anything else about the program. Like how great/poor the program is.

LMFAO. I know. It went to my spam box too.

yeah I have no info on the program, wish I did....i just applied b/c the cost was so low!

I've already interviewed at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse (1st choice) and I have an interview set up at Univ. New Eng on Dec 3 (2nd choice) so I'm going to hold off on that deposit!

Oh ok...but that deposit is due Dec.4th and your UNE interview is a day before that so...

Good luck on your decisions

I was going to email and ask for a week or two extension, b/c i hear UNE makes decisions quickly after the interview, and I should hear from Upstate by then.

JJb and Jbizzle. (or neone who has had a response) I am curious as to when you interviewed and when you submitted your applications to them. I submitted first week in september and havent heard a word from them yet and I am a little worried.

Thanks

No interview for Touro Bay Shore not sure about manhattan campus. I esubmitted ptcas on 8/19 and was mailed out on 8/26. Check your spam email since I got my acceptance email in my spam box on 11/4. Then they sent an actual hard copy a week later with the medical forms to be filled out.

Hi guys. I've been accepted and I've also put my $500 to hold my spot. Has anyone actually done a tour of their program? For the current students who are in the program, would you please let us know about how you like/dislike the program?

I was accepted to UMDNJ and I have an interview w/ Suny Downstate soon. I'd probably go to Suny Downstate because of price and I've heard a few crummy rumors about Touro's program/facilities/some faculty. Any response would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Sorry I forgot to ask this, but I'm also wondering about touro's typical student body makeup? Are there a lot of nontraditional students? Diverse ethnic backgrounds? Former athletes? I've heard the male/female ratio is a lot more even than most programs that are usually female dominated - any truth to this?
