I have looked over interview feedback and was just wondering if anyone has any last minute tips, special advice, or questions that I should ask in the interview! Thanks for your help.

Yes, ask them why their school is so crappy. When I was interviewing I went out the Sunday before to check out the grounds and was kicked off by their 90 year old security guard and their maintenance manager...Ralph. Nice introduction for a potential student. It was all pretty much downhill from there.

Well, in terms of advice, relax. Before I interviewed there, I also read up on the interview experiences-some were quite horrid. But if you approach the situation with a positive mindframe, you'll do fine. Get to know your group before the interview, that made the panel format evluation MUCH easier. Dr. Haight is a great guy, keeps a sense of humor but also gives it to you striaght up. Also, when interviewing, don't elaborate too much. TAKE TIME TO THINK ABOUT YOUR ANSWER, don't ramble. A clear, concise answer is much better than a long, elborate one. If staying at the Best Western, get to know other applicants. That's my two cents.
Oh, and best of luck, you'll do fine!

My brother in law interviewed there last year and they had a group interview. I forgot the exact number but it was a group of potential students and a panel.

  This time it's not being talking trash about TUCOM.

Monkeyguts, I'd be careful what you say about TUCOM because ez and Elysium will be seriously offended. 😉

i hate giving straight up "do this" advice, but here's what i learned from my interview:

for god's sake, be yourself. try to be sincerely interested in Osteopathic medicine, rather than babbling and saying the word "holistic" every other sentence. listen carefully to the questions they ask you, and the people around you, and be concise yet sucinct in your answer. it didn't seem as nerve-wracking as it sounds on the interview feedback, so relax and have an genuine smile (not all plasticky and forced) on your face.

you'll do great, and i wish you much luck. despite what some people say, it's an excellent school and you'll have some great classmates.

TUCOM's interview was my easiest one of the 8 interviews I had. You are only asked 5 questions, and you should pay attention to what others have to say because they might ask you to summarize what others said.

Just relax and be yourself. I actually got to talk to some cool people at my TUCOM interview including this mormon guy. After the interview, he taught me a lot about the Mormon faith while waiting for the bus to come. I now think Mormons are cool.

I never saw orgazmo. Sounds like a good movie though.

A choad. I've never heard that either. You're losin me here Jack. 🙂

orgazmo's sidekick is chodaboy (not sure about the spelling here). the movie has a ron jeremy cameo and a surprisingly positive message about mormonism and love. yes, i thought about it that much.

"choad" is slang for your perineum. see also "gooch" and "taint". good for strokin'.

 I see. Perhaps I will rent the movie despite the obvious sexual connotations. 😉

i would suggest staying at the hotel touro sets up...you get to know the people you will interview with and dr haight comes to get you...he helps to lighten things up a bit. The group interview is unique and i really liked it. Try to play off what other people say. For example, one girl graduated in biochem, i graduated in spanish, when they asked if i was at a disadvantage i told them i would study biochem with the girl and then translate for her on rotations...they laughed. If you know your group it makes using each other much easier. i really liked the interview set up. one habit i got into was reading over my application to the school i was applying to...it helped me remember what they are looking for and is a good self-esteem booster. good luck!!

the DO interviewer at TUCOM was falling asleep throughout the whele interview. other then that it was easy. be aware that it is a pannel interview and not all the interviewees get the same type of questions. everyone got very easy questions and i was stuck with 2 hard ones. but don't stress cause it isint very hard
