Much help selecting between these two. Originally from Cali. I just need some input between these two schools if you were given the option.

RVU is for profit. Not a big fan of Touro nv but can't recommend rvu (even though Denver is awesome) so my pick is Touro nv.

Don't listen to people using the "for-profit" schtick. It has absolutely no bearing on you as a medical student. Consider board scores (RVU has high board scores), match lists (RVU has pretty baller match lists) and the FIT for you (by far the biggest factor to consider). I have met many a RVU student and all of the MDs I work with have all said nothing but good things about it. I would pick RVU for the above reasons. I also have heard nothing bad about TUNCOM and would go there in a heartbeat. Go where you think you fit in best, and that you feel will give you the best chance to succeed.

It's most likely true and RVU will probably be fine. However I have qualms when my institution is more concerned for my wallet then me.

Let me be clear though: board scores are on the student!!!!!

ooh. I've visited Touro Nevada! Awesome school! They are doing such important work to alleviate the physician shortage crisis in southern Nevada. The students also have dibs on all the hospitals in the southern part of the state that have residency programs in a variety of fields. The school is also very well structured with a variety of other health profession programs (PA, RN, BSN, etc.) and a faculty run health center. Some people complain about the building design but it's not that bad. I had a good impression of the school.

Touro has no problem taking 3k away for a despot fee while other schools are less than half that (I still think Touro-nv is a pretty good school don't get me wrong). School don't always allocate their resources to benefit the student, which is why it is important to look at the entire package. RVU has a curriculum that has given them some of the highest COMLEX scores in the nation (that jump before and after the curriculum is very large). Their clinical education also seems good too. They are also still cheaper than some of the non-profit schools also. I believe this school is doing a good job thus far.

Deposit for TUNCOM is 2k, not 3k. Also, though it is well known that there is a correlation between RVU's high board scores and its change in curriculum, it is important to also consider the teaching capabilities of the faculty members. The best way to determine this to talk to students is to talk to current students and alumni. I have been doing this by messaging with people in schools that I have been accepted and their feedback has been more valuable than simply looking at match list and board scores.

To the OP, you have 2 great schools to choose from. I'll be generic and also tell you to pick the one you have a better gut feeling about!
