Hi
I wanted to know if a/b knows the story with the biochemistry requirement for next yr. Is it being waived for next yr or is only for fall 2008. I called Touro but got 2 different answers.

Sorry for bothering u again. She told me biochem is preferred, so being accepted is possible depending on ur other credentials but Dr. Louise Patterson said biochem is required. I looked on the Toruo website and it said Rasheema is only the administartive assistant- nothing about admissions. I am taking orgo this sem and was advised not to take biochem along with it( my skool gives an intro to biochem class which i can get into). Is that crazy taking both of them together- just those 2?
thanx

From what I understood as of next year, Biochem will be a requirement because they have a 2+2 system where u do 2 yrs of classwork and 2 years of clinicals hence they don't intend to spend so much time on certain courses like biochem b/c they expect u to have learned the basics in undergrad.

Take the intro class if you can handle it!!!

that is wat I plan on doing. I have no choice. I figure the intro class will be easier ( and touro said it fine). i have a high gpa- a 3.92. I am going back for a post bac- just to do orgos, biochem, speech and microeconomics-I hope I have a good chance of getting in)

I have absolutely no doubt that you will be considered for 2009 fall admission. Is biochem the only thing stopping you from applying for this school year?

Biochem is bsically the only class stopping me at this point. I still have to take the orgo's which I know are very tough. I have basically A's in undergrad but I do have a B in anatomy and a B+ in micro leture ( but A- in lab). I really want 2 go to a NY skool( only applying to LIU and Touro). I know this is limiting myself . All my other grades are basically A, amybe one A-. Basically the biochem is stopping me but I am taking the intro class, along with orgo 1. I basically will be studying around the clock but I have no other obligations at this point. I hope I can handle it . Even a B I feel would be fine- at least for Touro.
thanx so much for listening to me. I am just very anxious. I hope I didnt waste my time taking all these science classes for no reason. R u applying this yr or next?

No problem...I applied for this year 08-09 school year. Good luck with the Orgo classes and Biochem!!!! 🙂

Anyone know if Touro(NY) has a supplemental application for fall 2009?

PharmCAS says it does but there is no supplemental application on its official website.

thanks

Yeah, any word on the supplemental? I still don't see it. Is it invite only?

I e-mailed the associate dean, Dr. Lois Garland-Patterson and was told supplemental application will be available on their website in "mid-September"

If that's the case, supplementals are not invites-only.

I just checked their website and no supplementals posted yet.
