Hi, I was wondering who has been invited to turn in their supp app yet? I turned my pharmcas app on August 30th and was wondering if its normal to still not have heard anything from Touro yet.

i submitted my application on Sept. 1, which made me an early decision appl (although a very late early decision applicant); however I recently noticed on Sept 22 that pharmcas had changed the early decision status to "no." The next day I checked my mail Touro sent me an invite to fill out the supp. app and told me that the adcom have changed my status from early to regular decision, because there are no more interview spaces for ED.

I submitted my PharmCAS on 7/19 and received a supp app 8/10. Still no word on interviews though. :/

I should probably call them on Monday, I'm getting worried something is missing and that is why they aren't sending me the supp app, I feel like I should have gotten one by now, its been over 3 weeks. 😕

So when you e-submitted were all your LORs in yet?

yes.. and so were my transcripts.. and my LORS were from two science professors and a pharmacist.

On the website it says to check with Julie through email or phone about your app. status. Last time I emailed her, it took 2 1/2 weeks for her to reply!

OH! Same here.. my pharmcas grades only got updated about a week or so ago, maybe thats why? Thats reassuring. I only sent one of my transcripts just a week before Aug 31st.. so that was probably the cause of the pharmcas GPA delay.

I will definately keep you updated on my Touro status.. and I will call them tommorow 🙂

My question is: if my LORs on pharmcas are from: 1 professor, 1 pharmacist, 1 supervisor. Will I receive an invitation for the supplemental application and then send in another LOR from second professor?

I'm so sad...........I just received a letter from Touro stating that I am not invited to submit their supplemental application. It makes me feel so insecure about other schools I'm applying (Western, LLU, USC, UOP).

Don't let it get you down smallkitty. I know it's hard not to though. Keep your head up. Different schools look for different things in an applicant.

Thank you for comforting me. I thought Touro is not that competitive and I would at least get an invitation for the supplemental application from them with a 3.14 overall GPA and 3.55 pre-reqs GPA. I had some experiences and other things as well.......

I got the supplemental application in the mail a month ago..

I am reluctant to turn in my supplemental application to them right now. I don't want to potentially get accepted to Touro first and have to turn them down. I hope to use Touro as a back up school.

Oh.. I always thought Touro sent a supp app to everyone who applied who made their GPA cutoff... 😕 .. now i'm scared

Can you tell me when did you turn in your pharmcas? I really just feel I should have gotten the supp app by now if they were going to give it to me. I called them today and they told me I could only request application status info through e-mail.. bah!

I don't understand why you were turned down. You meet the minimum GPA requirement. I think your GPA is not that bad. Could it be something else?

I didn't have any felony. Oh, I was on probation for doing really bad one quarter for health and family-related reason. I didn't have any thing bad besides that.

Well, I'll keep my hope up for Western...hopefully...

This might sound like a stupid question but where can you find out when pharmCAS mailed out your apps?

And yeah.. I really don't get why they didn't invite you to turn in a supp app? Did you call them and ask? Its quite puzzling.. 😕

Go to pharmcas, click on status --> go to Designations.

I have only 1 W and C's on non pre-pharm courses like Geology, General BIOL, Philosophy, history, etc.

I emailed them at [email protected], I think I will get a reply soon and I will keep you guys updated!

Touro is not my first choice because of the location but I am still pretty sad...

that is crazy!!!! your GPA is not bad at all!! I have 14 Ws on my rec. and i got an invite to an interview. Do u have any other activities? letter of rec ? stuff like that? Hope u get an invite for western. keep ur head up. 😉

you have 14 W's? I have 4 and I thought that was a lot?
What about your GPA and the other stuff you mentioned? What university did you attend?

ya i know. i have a lot of Ws. my GPA was 2.7 three years ago. I have raised it to a 3.4 now. I'm from a CSU, no biggy. I volunteered a lot in the hospital (just because i liked to. this was when i had the 2.7.), I was also an officer for several clubs, again no biggy.

Are you from CSU East Bay by any chance? I go there

Since I promised everyone to keep you all updated about Touro's response, here is what I got.

Hi,

A letter was sent out to you stating that your file was not allowed to move
on to the supplemental application process. The Admissions Committee's
expectations are higher than the minimum for those they allow to move on to
the supplemental application and interview process. At this time they do
not feel your qualifications are competitive enough compared to other
candidates.

Hmm, I'm a bit worried now too. Pharmcas just mailed my application out on 9/25 so I'm pretty late in the cycle and my stats are lower than yours. I also thought touro will send you a supplemental invite as long as your GPA makes their minimum 2.5 cutoff. I have a friend who got an invite wth a 3.05 overall, only a week after his pharmcas was sent out. You should definitely check with them, make sure they did not mix you up with someone else. I am not sure if they actually go through with reading your personal statement yet though....maybe that could be the problem.

well I called UOP.. and they said they didn't get my pharmCAS app either.. but I kept on getting transferred to people who know more of what they were talking about and turns out they just recieved my pharmCAs app in the mail yesterday and its to be updated... so hopefully Touro is the same way.

This is kind of off topic, but I was going to apply to Touro for 2008.

For those that did retake classes, did you retake those classes at a four year college or a JC? I am going to graduate in June, but I wanted to retake classes at a JC because it's so much cheaper. Also, my school does not allow repeats if you have a C. Thanks so much!
