Hey guys!
So I've gotten acceptances to TouroCOM Montana's MS program, Samuel Merritt's MBS program, and Bluefield/VCOM's MABS program (track 2). I was looking to see if anyone has gotten acceptances to any of these SMP programs or if alumni from any of these programs could offer some advice?
TouroCOM- Guaranteed admission if you achieve a 3.45 program GPA, 500 MCAT, and a pass on the comprehensive exam. Matriculate in fall 2026
Samuel Merrit- Guaranteed interview to atleast 1 of 4 med schools but can can get more (ICOM, OCOM, MCOM and LMU- DCOM) if you achieve a 3.5 program GPA and 500 MCAT. Matriculate in fall 2027
Bluefield/VCOM- Possible Interview if you achieve a 3.6 program GPA and 496 MCAT. Matriculate in fall 2027
I'm not sure which program I should choose. TouroCOM seems like a great option, but I've heard that the program is structured to weed people out. The grading scale for each class is based on the class performance. The class average becomes a B+. So only if you're consistently scoring above average will you meet the GPA requirement. I know all SMP programs are made to be difficult so they can see if you're ready for medical school. However, I don't want to join a program which doesn't have a high matriculation rate. Samuel Merritt just started their program this year. So I'm assuming it'll be a bit easier. Plus it has ties to multiple medical schools. Bluefield's program seems risky since I'm on track 2.
I'd appreciate any advice because I'm really confused
