Hey Guys!

I just wanted to start a new thread for Towson 2015 MS Admissions Cycle. Has anyone heard anything from them? I was actually verified today! I went to an information session last November and would love to get into their program seeing as though they are the only OT program in Maryland and would love to stay in state.

I applied there but I have not heard anything yet. When I visited in May, they told me that I would not hear back until sometime in March. I am out of state unfortunately but I hope that doesn't mean it will be much harder for me to get in. Towson is where I would like to go so I am a little nervous!

I think they are still processing early admissions applicants. It was my understanding that they do not have rolling admissions and do not send out their notices until after receiving all applications (aside from early admissions).

Applying there as an out-of-state student as well!

I am as well! Has anyone heard back for early admission yet?

has anyone heard any recent info about Towson?

I went to an information session awhile back too, and they essentially said end of March and no sooner. So I think we all have some waiting to do for Towson, unfortunately. :nailbiting:

Ahh the end of March seems like years from now!! Thanks for the info

I got an email from Towson today stating that I've been selected for further admission review! Next step is applying through their website. One step closer!!

I was just about to post about that. I got the same email today.

Woot! Congrats to both of you! Towson is my first choice, so now I'm really on edge. :wideyed: (P.S. I'm having way too much fun with these emoticons.)

same here. wonder how many people they send that email to.

I have some notes from my info session that sheds a little light on that. I'll dig them up when I get home later.

I got the same email! It really sucks that we don't hear back till the end of March because we all have to put down deposits for other schools! But Towson is one if my top choices too!

@KEot Ok, so here are last year's numbers:

- 478 applicants
- 117 didn't meet min. requirements
- 120 to second stage
-40 taken

Wow, alright! That's not too bad actually. Thanks for the update!!!:joyful:

Thank you so much for the stats! It makes me feel so much better that the probability isn't that bad. I thought it was a lot worse. Hopefully it is somewhat constant for this year.

I started to fill out the supplement and I noticed there was an optional section to upload resume, written statement, and etc. Are we suppose to fill those out? If so what do we upload for the written statement and additional documents?

I got the email that I am a competitive applicant as well! I did not fill out the resume section or anything. I got the impression that they didn't want any supplemental information besides your transcript. What adress did you guys send your transcript to?

That is the address I sent it to.

Does anyone know if you're coming from out of state and live in Maryland for a year (changing license and all) could you apply for in-state tuition for the following year?

Hi Guys -
Good luck to everyone who applied for next year!! I'm in the program at Towson now and it really is a great program! The waiting was horrible, but hang in there!

I have a question, are classes generally 9-5, M-F for the program?

Does anyone know if the Physics class can be taken online? Their website says two different things.

The physics class needs to have a lab portion, and I don't think that can be done online.

They really vary each semester. You'll have days where you're there 8-12 and then possibly another day you're there 4-7. This summer I have all evening classes but last fall I was done by 1pm every day. The schedules so far have either been M-F or M-Thursday, so there's a chance you could have a 4-day week!

Thanks so much!! Sounds like a great schedule. I am hoping to get accepted, only a few more weeks to hear back!

Does anyone know if we get an email letting us know of our status or is it all done by mail?

So the end of the third week of March is here. When do you guys think letters will be mailed? Tired of waiting....

I've been counting the days. I'm hoping by late next week. But we will see.

This wait is awful! I was hoping we would hear by the end of this week. I'm waiting to decide on a school until I hear from Towson, but now I feel like it'll be another 2 weeks before we get anything in the mail.

Are you sure? I just called graduate admissions (for address concerns) and she mentioned that her database says they haven't been sent yet. But who knows, maybe it hasn't been updated. The OT department is not picking up the phone so I couldn't directly ask them. I hope it has been though!

Any chance the letters were FedExed? I got a call that I have something from fedex but I'm not expecting anything (except a letter from Towson.....) And on Thursday they told me I should hear early this week

I emailed them this morning and was told they were sent today as well, I'm hoping to hear back tomorrow or Wednesday since I'm only about an hour away.

You emailed the OT department directly? And I hope to hear back tomorrow as I live only over an hour away as well.

Yep, OT dept directly.

Good luck to us all!

Another day, another empty mailbox. I live 15 min from Towson, so I'm banking on tomorrow. But I've been banking on every single day for the last 2 weeks, sooo.... lol

Wow 15 minutes?!? Yeah I was expecting it today as well. I'll give it until Friday. Good luck to you!

I'm freaking out! Still no letter 🙁 I'm from Maryland so it's making me nervous that someone out of state received their letter already.

Nothing in my mailbox today. Congrats!!!!!!! What are your stats?
