TPR & nephrectomy

In first aid 2016 pg 268 it says that TPR decreases in removal of organs in parallel (i.e.) nephrectomy.

Looking at the equation for parallel resistance: 1/R(total) = 1/Ra + 1/Rb etc. it doesn't seem to make sense to me. When you remove an organ in parallel according to this equation, then the total resistance is expected to decrease.

Could someone explain what I'm missing here?

Yeah, I noticed that too. I assumed that to be an error.

Removing resistors in a parallel circuit increases the total resistance.

Must be an error.

FA15 says the right thing, TPR increases.

Wow, I was just about to start a new thread but I decided to search for this topic. I just reviewed a question from Kaplan's Qbank and I was reading along with my First Aid 16' and I was staring blankly for 10 minutes and couldn't figure it out. It's an obvious mistake. Glad to see that this is mentioned in the errata. Cross out that sentence in FA to avoid confusion.

According to Kaplan, decreasing the number of resistances increases TPR and arterial blood pressure!
