Hi

I'm almost done interviewing for residency and I'm very conflicted about what is important for applying to cardiology. Ive interviewed at programs that are not as loaded so residents do a lot of research and places where research during intern year is nearly impossible because of how busy it gets. It seems to me that scholarly activity trumps clinical training and the name of the program goes a long long way. I'm asking this because I'm trying to decide who to put in my top 5. I wonder if people in this forum can give a little insight into this. I would think program directors would value training more but I'm not seeing this on the interview trail.
