Hi all,

I have a somewhat scattered looking academic transcript despite being a traditional, non-transfer student. I took one college class over the summer at a CC in between my junior and senior years of high school, and I've taken one college class over the summer at local state u (my university is in another state). I'm also currently taking a DL (online) class through a university to fulfill a pre-req my school doesn't offer. Despite all this, almost all of my academic career (going on four years and more than 200 SH) is at one university, which I'll be graduating from (hopefully) in May.

I ordered transcripts from all three schools (except the DL one, which I noted on my app as sending when the course is complete) and while I'm pretty sure my man transcript will get there by Dec 1st, I'm not sure my other two will. The CC doesn't verify transcript sending and has a crappy and untrackable transcript ordering service, and the local state u didn't send me confirmation of mailing after I emailed in my "permission to release transcripts" form before the holidays.

I'm freaking out that my applications will be thrown out over 8 hours of course work if the transcripts don't arrive on time!

Any advice?

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm not sure about your specific program(s), because they all seem to have different rules/regulations about these kinds of things. Did you call your school and inform them of the situation? When I was applying to BU I had a very similar situation and since they had everything else (app, essay, LORs, etc) they said it wasn't a problem as long as I faxed them unofficial transcripts (printed out from school accounts) to be a placeholder until my official ones got there. Call your school of interest and see what they say and if you can, get ahold of the school(s) you requested officials from and see if they've actually sent them already? Good luck.

Unlikely, especially if you call ahead on Monday to give 'em a heads up: you appear to be a highly competitive applicant and calling ahead will almost certainly anchor that impression.
