I attended SEA semster (different from semester at sea), a program affiliated w/ BU. While I received grades from SEA, my college only accepted the courses as P/F and that is how they show up on my transcript from college. I guess the question is do I need to request the BU transcript (if it even exists) when I apply and state that I attended BU on my AMCAS application? I guess the best way to determine this would just be to call BU and see if they have a transcript but I'm too lazy for that. TIA

And I'm too lazy to give you a thoughtful response.

If you received final course grades from a different school (BU, in this case) during the program I believe you will need to submit the transcript to AMCAS even if your home institution only accepted the transfer credits as P/F.

Actually, if BU has a transcript for you at all you'll have to submit it, according to the AMCAS Instructions.

This seems confusing though. Here are 2 opposing quotes from the amcas instruction manual:

1. "One official transcript is required from each U.S. post-secondary institution at which you have attempted coursework, regardless of whether credit was earned".
-This seems like I would need the transcript from BU

2. "You must select one of the provided options as your transcript exception reason. These are the only available reasons for a transcript exception: Foreign college – study abroad program sponsored by a U.S. college."
-This seems like I don't need a transcript since it was"technically" a study abroad program.

Since the program was run through BU and not a "foreign college" is that the reason a transcript is required?

The second quote is referring to credits earned at a foreign university specifically. If you study abroad at Cambridge through a program your university has, for example, but you're enrolled in classes at Cambridge you don't need a transcript from them. In your case BU was the institution that actually granted you credits, and since it's a US school you need a transcript.

Okay so when adding my BU to my colleges, for school name should i put: Boston University, Sea Semester or just leave it as be. Also for program type, should I check "study abroad program". It was advertised as study abroad but I wasn't really "abroad" for that long (6 weeks in Woods Hole, MA, 6 weeks on the ocean). I'm wondering if it is more like an extension program than a study abroad program

This I don't know.
