I just finished my midterms, and right now I have A's in all of my 5 courses this term.

If I finish with A's in all my classes this term, my GPA will go up by around 0.3. And if I get A's in all my classes in 2nd term, my GPA would rise even further by 0.1. Therefore, my GPA has a potential of rising by about 0.4 if I do very well this year, and so far I am.

My questions are:

Should I send in my CURRENT transcript with my "lower" GPA right away (which wouldn't have the marks for the courses I'm currently taking)?

Can I also send in my transcript with the "higher" GPA in January with the results of my 1st term courses? Will the admissions committee look at this transcript?

Also, should I send in another copy of my transcript after my Term 2 courses are done?

Which transcript would they look at the most and factor into their admission decision?

Heyhye!! where in CDN are you at? =)

Cool! I'm from BC! =)
Good luck in your application!

Hello CDN_twin:

I would recommend turning in your application now so you can be granted an interview earlier. I'm fairly sure that all the optometry schools require a transcript before granting an interview.

Since you feel that your GPA will most likely be increasing, you can call the admissions office to have them place a note in your file that you will send another transcript when final grades come out. Most of the optometry schools are on rolling admission so it is in your best interest to get interviewed quickly.

When you send in your transcript with your final grades, the committee will definitely look at those grades. You will also need to send them a copy of your final grades of the year and a copy of your bachelor's degree (or a letter from your dean saying you have completed your degree if the physical copy has not been printed) if it is a prerequisite for entering.

They will look at all your transcripts, and showing improvement is always a good thing.

Best wishes,

Rosanna
