Hi all!

My transcript was verified over the weekend, and during the process several of my course descriptions were changed. My school doesn't call General Biology 1 and 2 just General Biology 1 and 2, they call it "Energy Transfer and Development" and "
Form, Function, Diversity, and Ecology". The verification team left the first one as Biology but changed the second to Ecology. They also changed my "Engineering Mathematic A" from calculus to mathematics. I am worried schools will not feel I have met the pre-requisites now. Does anyone have experience with this? Will schools still accept these credits as pre-reqs? I have called twice with no success in getting them to change it. I am especially frustrated because others at my school still has their biology course listed as biology 🙁

Schools will still accept the credits are pre-reqs. If the categories are incorrect, email AADSAS with the syllabus and explaining what the category should be. I was able successfully get some of my courses re-categorized to what they should have been. However, schools are going off of the course name to determine pre-req fulfillment. If a school thinks you haven't fulfilled a pre-req, you can submit the syllabus to show that it does.

@zToothinator Thanks so much for your reply! Did you just email [email protected] ? Also, will schools contact me saying that I have not fulfilled the requirement in their eyes, or will they just discard my application? I am sure that if given the opportunity to review the syllabus, they will see that I meet the requirement, but I am hoping to have the opportunity to demonstrate that.

I did.

Schools won't discard your application because you haven't fulfilled a pre-req yet (in this case, you already have so it's even more so a non-issue). The only school I know of that requires everything to be completed before applying is Stony Brook. If a school accepts you and you accept the offer, they'll say that your acceptance is conditional on finishing all of your pre-reqs and you'll need to submit your final transcripts indicating so. If there are any issues, they'll notify you at that time and then you can send your syllabus if needed.
