I've taken two classes from community colleges (one in high school and one during college). I've already sent both transcripts to my university for GE credits. Do I have to send them separately to AAMCAS even though it's technically already taken into account by my school? Thanks!

Yes. Your classes should be listed by institution taken on AMCAS.

I had the same question, thanks for answering...Also, this may seem like a stupid question, but I know you get your transcripts so you can input the letter grades into AMCAS; however, do you have each school submit an official transcript that is unopened/signed to each school as well? How does that work?

Only send transcripts to the school you plan on graduating from if you want those classes to count towards general education credits or pre-req's so you can graduate. Otherwise, there is no need.

I think she was referring to AMCAS, am I right? If that's what you're asking, AMCAS simply requests 1 official transcript from each postsecondary school you attended. Since it's a centralized application service, AMCAS provides each medical school with your transcript, so you don't need to go through the hassle of sending that many transcripts to how ever many schools you're applying to.

I think you mean to each medical school you apply to, correct?

Nope, no need at least right now. Most schools will ask for final transcripts before you matriculate though.

Thanks everyone! Yes, I was confused on the process of getting and sending official transcripts. So I go to each school, get a transcript for myself to input the grades. Then, have them send an official one to AMCAS?

Speaking of, I took a ceramics class at a CC that applied to my Art minor at my University, do I need to get that transcript (not just for the letter grade, but official to AMCAS?)

Yes and yes.
