So transfer agreements means that if you keep a certain GPA at your community college it is guaranteed that you will get accepted at that college that has the agreement with your community college?

You need to maintain a certain GPA AND take specific courses (usually GE requirements, and some major requirements). Then the community college signs off on it, and you are guaranteed admission. In CA, the transfer agreement is called like IGETC or something.

My friends did that and had NO problems getting in. I did not, but still got into my school. But it was more stressful😉

Best bet is to talk to your school and find out.

I am doing the TAA (Transfer Admission Agreement) to go to UC Davis, and I'm also doing the IGETC. The only caveat with the IGETC is that for the most part, it assumes you are doing the Bachelor of Arts, not a Bachelor of Science. Talk to your counselor otherwise you may be taking a whole lot of classes you don't need.

So basically, it is guaranteed that you will be accepted to the college in the transfer agreement if you have the GPA requirement and the course requirements?

Yes 100% guaranteed if you meet the requirements. One minor thing left though. Try to get as many lower division courses out of the way (and of course do well in them) before transferring. Because:

1) You'll have more units, so you'll have higher standing for registration

2) If you get OChem out of the way, etc, you don't have to deal with the cutthroat pre-meds at the university 😉 .

But yea, thats pretty minor though. I didn't finish physics before transferring, and still had a good time anyway 🙂

A little side note.
Do not talk to the advisors at the cc. They usually don't know what they are talking about. I have a few classes that did not transfer because of this.
Go straight to the college you want to transfer to.
