Hey guys/gals,

I'm currently in my 2nd year at a community college and am having trouble visualizing the next year. I actually started off my freshman year not knowing what I wanted to do, and lazed about, not taking all the science courses I was supposed to be, landing me currently with a 3.4 GPA. I'm not particularly worried, because I'm confident I can do well in all my courses(Bio II, Chem I & II, Phys I & II, O-chem I and II) this year and transfer to a four-year university without issue.

What I am worried is that I will not be ready for the MCAT most people take in their junior year. I've heard that I need to take 2 semesters of biochem to be ready for it and I don't think I'd have enough time to do those things before the MCAT. Basically I'm asking if I need to postpone when I take the MCAT or if I'm missing some class that is required for the MCAT or med school in general. Thank you.

Do not take the MCAT unprepared. As ADCOMS consistently advise the MCAT is a high stakes exam that will impact the rest of your career. Don't take it until you are ready and well prepared!
