hi 🙂 i just finished my sophomore year of undergrad and am thinking of a transfer ... its a little late i think to transfer for the fall 2004 term, but not for the spring...

i feel like it might be silly to transfer for only a year and a half, but i am extremely dissapointed in the quality of education i am getting at my current institution, and feel that my time (and money) would be better spent elsewhere. A place like NYU or Cornell might better prepare me for medical school... as the school i am at now is not doing AT ALL

could anyone give me any advice on what to do?? should i transfer for my remaining 1.5 years? or does that make little sense in the big picture?

I transferred after my sophmore year and took two additional years to graduated from SLU.
I was in the same situation as you are in, not happy with the classes at my previous school and looking back on it now, after graduating I don't regret it at all

Just be sure you know what will/will not transfer to your new school so you do not end up being in school for longer than you expect to be.

My advice woud be if you are unhappy with your current situation then do it.

I was asked about my transfer in one of the interviews I had, but I think it was b/c i was interviewing with a school on the same university system as the one I transferred from. I do not think it is a negative thing so long as it is for pursuit of higher academic standards/education.

Good luck!

thanks for your advice.. you were a big help 🙂
