I'm trying to get as much input from as many people as I can. Because of personal reasons, I applied for a transfer to Emory University in Atlanta. I got my acceptance 2 days ago. My girlfriend lives in Atlanta, and it would be a good environment for me. I'm currently going into my senior year. If I stayed here at UNCW I would be graduating in May. If I transfer to Emory I'd have to do an extra year of undergrad. My question is, how would transferring to Emory be seen my medical schools? Will they look down on this? Or will my strong academic history make up for that? All opinions are welcome.

Thanks

If you've done well academically up till now, continue to do well after the transfer, and don't totally slack off during that last year I really don't see how a school can/will hold that against you. Personally, I don't think they will really care.

Life happens, people make changes, etc... it's not going to be held against you. It may get asked in an interview "Why did you transfer to Emory?" "Well, my GF was moving to Atlanta, I really liked the area and this and that about the school, etc...." End of story.
