Hi all, can I have an insight about how graduated psychiatrists feel when a gorgeous girl declares her love of “erotic transference” in the session? How do you feel about it? Do you ever felt in love also (in the counter transference)?
And… does it make any difference if it is a beautiful girl or a non beautiful girl?
It might seem silly questions, but I really need some feed back,
Thanks in advance.

Tell me more about what happened after you declared your love for him. By the way, the anagram is delightful.

There's an "r" missing.

Leave my fake same music loving cyberboyfriend alone  I'm being rdorbeeienl by transferring my cyber love for doc, from Sazi who has been ignoring my subtle hints of affection. Mosche has left me, like they ALL DO, and Hurricane doesn't swing my way, plus shes got some husband or something that in all actuality hates me but she just says he doesn't to appease me, she lies anyway and I'm so sick of it 😛

The only one that really understands me is ... you Milo

Awww come on, I couldn't resist this thread 😉

I love you OPD..... do you love me?

:meanie:

It just can't be right for a budding psych to imitate PD behaviors and laugh about it 😱 :scared:

Complete and utter panic accompanied by desperately trying to think of what your supervisors would tell you to do in this situation, quickly followed by thinking about how you're going to document this in your note.

No. Attracted? Sure. Willing to even for a second consider crossing that professional boundary? No.

No. The patient is a patient. Their relative attractiveness is important only so far as they perceive it in their interactions with the world around them, e.g. "If only I were prettier, I'd feel so much happier." or "If only I could lose 15 lb, then I wouldn't be so anxious." or "My nose is way to big for my face, I'm going back to that plastic surgeon for a 2nd re-do."

Argh! That's all I could think about too! 😀 🙄

Erotic transference is virtually expected in certain patients. In Freudian terms, it would (eventually) be part of the therapeutic process.

Does it matter how gorgeous the woman is? It shouldn't. I agree with what Doc Samson has to say about the other issues.

Then again, it's impossible to say without pics. So go ahead.

Oh I see Doc Samson,
I imagined that, but it is good to have an appreciation/ confirmation of your side.

I think that psychiatrists you should post a paper with “the serious emotional secondary effects” of the consultations.

I came to the conclusion that it is theoretically possible that a person can fall in deep love for everyone, it just depend on the approach.

If I think well about the sessions, it seems to be a kind of a theater setting, weird… interesting profession, similar to mine.

I’m not BPD, as far as I know (but I like the idea of living in the frontier of different dimensions), I should have a Major Depression.
I just seem to encounter more mental problems after the sessions than the ones that made me go on the 1st consultation.

If I can ask you this more:
The fact that a patient has fallen in love for the psychiatrist makes you think she has a problem, just for that matter?
Which certain patients
do you mean?
And:
Does it gets to be a psychiatrist addiction, the emotion advances from the patients? i.e. do you feel ambivalent toward receiving love declarations? It feels good to be loved, weird and frighten panic at the same time, but you get addicted to it anyway?

P.S. Sorry for the abrupt entrance in this forum of a non health professional, a patient in fact, meaning me.
At the same time, if I were a psychiatrist I would think about this 4th dimension www interaction as an interesting sample of how exactly the patients feels towards a simple consultation.

All those feelings of panic and discomfort I mentioned before... I'm having them now. This sounds like medical advice.... Sazi? Time to close?
