Transferring after a year?

I was wondering if you are able to transfer dental schools after a year of completion. If you don't get into the dental school of your choice, are you able to go elsewhere and then transfer (with your credits)?

Very rarely. Typically most credits don't transfer due to coursework being different. Also, programs with unique curriculums are out of the question.

Often there aren't any open spots in the programs either, and adcoms will certainly question a student's motivations behind transferring.

From what I gather, transferring is a huge pain--don't get your hopes up.

Anybody else with any input?
