Hey all MS4 here recently matched to a categorical community Neurology program across the country. I fell near the bottom of my list, and was devastated these past weeks since the match. My hope was to move back to my hometown for residency to be closer to my SO/Family/Friends, which I had to move away from for medical school. Instead, I'm having to move even farther to a new city with no support system.
I've come to terms with my residency and giving it an honest try. However, I'm seriously considering trying to transfer after PGY-1 to another Neuro program back home or even reapplying the Match for PGY1 Neuro programs if that was still even possible. What are my best options trying to move forward?
