Transferring schools

Has anyone out there transferred med schools? Or perhaps thinking about it? If so, I was wondering if you may be able to share some of the difficulties involved. Thanks.

Many schools require a spouse to work there like the U of C. Also it is incredibly hard you damn well better have a great reason. In addition, some schools like USC (a friend applied) require Step I before the app is complete. So that requires one to take it early which can suck.

I just recently transferred. My reason was to be closer to family and my fiance. We plan on getting married soon and it would be easier if I came to this medical school. I didnt have any diffficulties, I just told my former school that I want to transfer to school X cuz Im getting married and send the deans letter and grades there. Then I interviewed with the other school and got in. It was easy for me. I had no problems on either side and I transferred between ms1 and ms2.

I hear that its "impossible" to transfer. It's easy at my school. People do it alot more than u might think. I think ur reason needs to be good though, like fiance, family etc...
