Transferring Schools

Has anyone on this forum transferred med schools? If so, what is the process like and what sort of transfer-specific issues have you arisen at your new school? I am considering transferring and would like input on reasons that merit transferring. Thanks

One of my classmates transferred after first year (very rare for this to occur) because she felt as if she was to far away from friends and family. People have transferred into my class after second year for various reasons such as being in closer proximity to his/her spouse or being closer to sick family members.

I am currently at Vandy, where they moved to an organ-based system this year. My inclination to transfer mainly comes from my dissatisfaction with being a guinea pig while the administration tries new approaches to teaching. In addition, I dont feel like I am being prepared well for the boards and am worried about the typical drop in board scores that comes when a school changes its curriculum. Intuitively, it seems like a curriculum change alone would not warrant a transfer (from a admissions deans pt of view), so I was wondering if there were other ways to send the message that I really need the change, granted that there is an opening at the schools I am interested in.

Were you unaware of this curriculum change when you accepted the offer of admission?
