Transferring to another program?

Does anybody know how easy/hard it is to transfer to a different residency program if, for example, one has a personal reason to want to transfer (i.e., significant other in another city)?

In derm? Nearly impossible. It's not easy for programs to make room for another derm resident because there are so few residents. In the extremely rare event that someone drops out at a pgy-3 or -4 level I guess there would be a chance, but I have only heard of this happening once.

Heard/seen it once dermie was married to another dermie on opposite coast. Got into same program as S.O.
