Im a PGY2 in OB/GYN and am seriously considering making a change to peds. I think i knew all along i wanted to do peds but got sidetracked and convinced myself that OB was a better choice for me. So now i'm realizing that i made the wrong choice, im happy i'm realizing this now instead of in 10years but im still in an awkward situation.
My question is how can I be a competitive applicant in pediatrics if its been years since ive done any peds and dont have any peds LOR at this time. I want to be at a strong academic center so i can be involved in research and have access to strong fellowships, but i realize that these programs would be the most competitive. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
