Hey guys.... I recently transferred from HPU(Hawaii Pacific Univ) to SU(Seattle Univ) after my Freshman year. Is it going to look bad on my transcript if I transfer back to HPU for my Junior year??? At HPU I got a 3.5 cumulative. If your wondering why I transferred from HPU, its because I thought it was a no name school compared to SU. Do you guys have any opinions??? Is HPU a reputable school or is SU better? Does it matter??? Is it bad if I transfer back to HPU after I transferred out from there? PLEASE HELP

Its just that SU is really expensive. During my time at HPU I also had a full scholarship, but I forfeited it to go to SU because I thought it was better? Do you guys think I can still get my full scholarship back???

Grades and MCAT scores talk. Schools are minimally important. The only people who talk about schools making a difference are the guys who went to berkely, got a 3.2 and are making excuses. They seem to forget that for teh most part people go to good schools for good educations, no bad grades.

Try to get that GPA up a little and get a good MCAT score. Dont' worry about where you came from unless you're applying to a very renown private school where inflating statistics is a major concern for them.

Sidenote: This is a dental school forum. We're talking about DATs here.

In terms of transferring back to HPU, why don't you ask the school? I don't think anyone here would know if you can regain the full scholarship.

Also, between SU and HPU, I don't think either one has a significant name advantage. We're not talking about the top 50 schools here. GPA is still key when applying to dental school.

I think you'll be OK. Just make sure your grades are high.

Are you lost?

Yeah...my bad. I looked through the "New Posts" section and didn't bother to look at which forum the post was from.

However, I'm sure the advice is just as valid. No need to be up in arms.

Iv been in 3 diff. colleges, just beacuse I moved states...thats fine...no problem...the only thing is that u might loss credits..I didnt but I know that most ppl do....

Huh, will HPU even take you back after bailing on their generous full scholarship? I've never heard of anyone transferring from school A to school B, and then back to school A. I mean I'm sure it happens, I've just never heard of it.

/10/ is that way.

okay guys... how does SU compare to UH (Univ. of Hawaii)? SU = Private Jesuit school($30,000 and $15000 after scholarships) and UH = Public School ($5,000 for in-state students, which is me)...

Is Univ of Hawaii a big name school and beneficial if I transfer there, or should I stay at SU, which is a private school?
