hey everyone, i was wondering- my fiance and i are applying to transfer to another medical school. do you recommend that we mention that we are a couple or that we apply separately? can our chances be hurt or helped either way? comments and opinions welcomed!

Grazie!

Considering that most schools don't get more than 1 or two spots opening up per year for transfer students, this is going to be pretty difficult. I'd probably tell them that you're applying as a couple so you won't be wasting your time on schools that can only physically accomodate one of you. You may have to consider trying to transfer to different schools within the same city as a backup plan.

Good luck to you guys

Tell them you're a couple and explain everything.

My advice would depend a little bit on where you are and where you are trying to go. A couple of things to consider--I've been told that transfers are so rare that considering them is a waste of time. The only transfer I've heard of has been between M2 and M3 and after a successful step one (in other words, you're talking about a one-month window). Is one of you in the military?
