Transferring

Is it possible to transfer to another dental school after the 1st year or after the 2nd year? How difficult is it to transfer? Is is based on grades and board scores or just whether or not the school you want to transfer to has any available spots? Thanks.

The first step is to find out which schools even allow transfers. There was a thread about this back in January I believe, but I don't remember which schools were on it.

I'm sure board scorse and class rank come into play, but I don't know how much.

its harder than hell to transfer. The biggest thing is to check and see if the programs are compatible. For instance you are in school A and you will take microbio in year two but the school you want to transfer to takes microbio in year one so you will never take microbio....a bad thing!

I know we had one girl transfer into our class , UNC 2007, from NYU. We had 4 people drop out, lose a year, or become Ms. America candidates so im sure that helped.
