Should I rank transitional year all by itself, just in case I don't match into an advanced program. Might as well get a year of training done and reapply, right?

however, i think it's a fair quesiton to ask yourself whether you would rather leave open the option to scramble into categorical and advanced programs, thus not ranking prelims/ty's at the end of the list for fear of removing that possibility. that's something to think about...

There are tons of prelim med and transitional programs that dont fill. Why not just scramble for one?
I'm dreading the possibility that Trisomy mentioned in the other thread that if you rank a prelim on the primary ROL, and you end up going all the way down the list to match there, you wont find out that you need to scramble. That would be a shame.
I dont know, maybe the issue with me is I dont want to go through this application process again, not to mention doing it during INTERN year. I'd rather scramble, if the need came for that. (hopefully not though!)
