I'm an M4 who will be applying for residency soon and the specialty I want to go in requires the prelim/TY year. My school did not give much information on the application process for these and I haven't found much online yet either.

What resources have you used to get more info about TY/prelim? Specifically:
-pros/cons of each
-Application requirements.. I've heard that these have a separate personal statement? How do I write a personal statement catered to the first year?

Any help is much appreciated!

Thank you

In. What kind of LoR do I need for TYs? I have an IR, a radiology research, and neurology letter, with the option of a possible surgical letter as well. This is for radiology or possibly IR residency. Do I need a medicine letter for a TY?

Additionally, do I need a medicine letter for medicine prelim, or can I just do a neuro + rads/IR/surg?
