Hey---does anyone know the best (cheapest, easiest) way to get to Wake Forest from Duke? I have interviews at UNC, Duke and WF on consecutive days--there is apparently a free shuttle b/w UNC and Duke but WF is further away. Any info? Thanks!

I think it would be easiest to rent a car and drive to Wake Forest...

I'm also doing UNC and Duke on consecutive days. It's nice when the dates work out like that 🙂

Yeah, it is definitely nice--don't have to make two trips to NC! I actually don't have a driver's license (just moved back to the US) 🙄
(wish there was an 'embarassed' emoticon on here!).....i'm thinking of cancelling WF if it proves to be too much trouble to get there....

There's also the train (go to www.amtrak.com). I think in Durham you would have to get a cab to the train station. I don't have any idea how far away the train station is from Wake Forest in Winston-Salem...

Good luck!

looks like i might be interviewing at duke on the 11/30 and unc on dec 1st
(but at duke 11/29 for dinner, and hoepfully making unc dinner night of 11/30)...not firm yet...but ill have my car, if anyone happens to be there on the same days and needs a ride to unc etc, would be glad to help out (PM me).

travelling b/w durham and winston-salem can be tricky without a car...maybe if you talk to wfu about this they can improvise some solution.
I wouldn't skip out on wake...did a rotation there in august and although I'm doing peds neuro, their adult folks were incredibly good and genuinely friendly.

driving would definitely be best but 2nd to that... probably a bus, try greyhound. stay at the hawthorne inn, they have a hosp shuttle, or comfort inn on miller st which is down the street from the hospital. i think the greyhound stop is downtown, which is not far from the hospital or those hotels.

hint for arranging travel: the hospital and undergrad campus are NOT on the same campus, even though they are in the same city!!! so make sure you tell ppl you are going to BAPTIST HOSPITAL and not WAKE FOREST b/c otherwise you might end up in the wrong place!

i'm a wake 4th yr, not doing neuro but they seem to get some good residents from what i saw on my 3rd yr rotation.
