Travel During Application Year

Is it realistic to do any long-period travel during the application year, especially around July/Aug/Sept? For example, spending a month backpacking Europe. I have read that interviews usually start around Oct and if secondaries are largely prewritten, is this a possibility?

I'm not sure if we are keeping an interview start timeline like we do for the predental forums, but some interviews will start in early August through March.

Understand that this type of planning should have been considered before applying. You will have to do the same once you are in school (scheduling around mandatory events and exams).
