Our practice is closing up shop on chemo teach appointments, latest interpretation of billing is that these are no longer billable. Curious if your practice has done the same?
We have not. But we only bill the NP's time anyway, not the pharmacist, RN or SW. You can easily justify billing a physician/APP visit for that. Our practice is closing up shop on chemo teach appointments, latest interpretation of billing is that these are no longer billable. ^100%. IMO it's no different than billing for a visit when a patient wants to come in and review labs/imaging in person compared to a portal message or quick phone call. How is seeing a cancer patient to discuss their treatment not a justified medical visit.
We are still doing it AFAIK
