Tri-I Jan 31 deadline for completing pre-reqs

I tried e-mailing the MSTP office over a week ago but I never received a reply, and I know there are some current Tri-I students on here so I figured I should just ask. Here is what I wrote them:

I noticed on the medical school website that all premedical prerequisites "must
be completed by January 31 of the year for which admission is sought". I was
wondering if this applies to MSTP applicants as well? I satisfy all of the
premedical coursework requirements, with the exception of the second semester
of English, which I intend to take in spring 2008 (and I am seeking admission
to Tri-I MSTP in fall 2008). Due to financial and logistical reasons, it would
be undesirable for me to take English in summer or fall 2007 instead. Do you
ever waive this Jan 31 requirement? If not, and I were unable to complete the
second semester of English before Jan 31, would it be futile for me to apply to
your MSTP?

You should be fine. Just don't mention it. I imagine it's like the DiffyQ requirement for HST - there is wiggle room.

Awesome-thanks. I guess I'll just hope that they've permanently lost that e-mail and don't peruse this board!
