When you are finally a dentist will you be the one out of five who doesn't recommend Trident or will you cave to the peer pressure and support it?

I recommend Jolt Cola and pop-rocks. I may even have them at the front desk. It's a great practice builder.

I think Pixie-Stix will be a good practice builder. How can you beat pure sugar?

I am one of the 4 out of 5. But then again, I'd also recommend Orbit, and any other chewing gum that is:

1. sugarfree
2. has xylitol

Hahaha, I remember having to correct some guy because they said to me:
"You're a dental student and are chewing gum... you should be ashamed"

Hahaha... guess he hasn't taken a stroll down the gum isle lately and picked out how many gum companies still use plain old sugar in their gum.

Trident White for me:

Why?

1. Reduces Plaque through mechanical action of chewing

2. Helps prevent dry mouth by promoting salivary flow to help remove plaque

3. Recaldent remineralizes and strengthens teeth

Last Thanksgiving I met this professor emeritus from UNC Dental school. This older gentleman has epic creds (actually created many dental instruments and has written several textbooks that are still used for dental materials and techniques). The first thing that struck me was that he was chewing gum! BTW, I'm stuck on Orbit also. I started chewing gum when I stopped smoking cold turkey years ago and never looked back.

Depends....Will they be sending me free samples? 😀

Good point. By the way, does anyone know if Proctor & Gamble still sends those samples of toothbrushes, toothpastes, fixodent, etc. to people who register at their website www.dentalcare.com . I got a huge stash a few years ago but now I'm running low on fixodent.
